Those silvered twists and whorls of burnished foil,
Budding, sporing, splicing from damask canvases –
The abominable mystery of inflorescence
Transforming: a swelling of diaphanous roots -
The minutiae of pearls pasted into calyx.

But amberoid lights are carcinogens; they
Spill forth and multiply like sickled cells; they
Trans-locate across the classroom - entangled
Mutagens and growths.
Now, anxious and nail-bit – you watch the canker
